"Putting patterns on your pixel dolls is a nice way to spice them up. This technique is a fast way to do this in MS Paint, without having to recolor each pixel." -taken from the web page.
"What can I say, I'm a sucker for full doll tuts. My last one was looking a bit shabby, so I decided to make a new one, but... let's just say I got a bit carried away. My last one had top, jeans, shoes and hair; this one has top, skirt, shoes, socks, armwarmers, hair, hat, necklace and a logo on the t-shirt, just for good measure. I figure you can ignore what you don't want, but it's there if you want it. A couple of times I give you outlines for other things you could do at suchandsuch a step (i.e. I have three tops, I only shade one). These are here to help but not be taken and used on your own dolls."
An update of my older tutorial. Men's hair is really just short hair and the styles can be used for female dolls just as male dolls can have all the same hairstyles that female dolls can, but here are some generic male hairstyles all the same.
This tutorial covers how to apply patterns to your dolls dresses, but in fact the technique shown here can be applied to anything else. This tutorial is made for Photoshop.
Dolls are unique in that they are not exclusively part of any other form of pixel/digital art. Some would argue that dolls are not art at all, but the reality is that the variety of dollers is so great that some are little works of art. The dolling community is as varied as the dolls it produces, with young pre-teens drawing simple dolls, to serious art students creating dolls for fun, to mothers who simply want to do something creative from time to time.
